Over the centuries, Belgium has been invaded by almost every other European people, effectively becoming a meeting point for the Germanic cultures of Northern Europe and the Latin cultures of the South.
Along with each invader came their tasteful cuisines to cumulate into something totally unique ~ Belgian fare. This is what we serve at Leuven.

LEUVEN SIGNATURE DISH ~ 1kg STEAMING MUSSELS POTS, FRITES and MAYONNAISE
The Frites are light and fluffy, the mayonaise is creamy and while each mussel cooks it opens slightly allowing the sauce flavours to penetrate each of the delicious little buggers - add that to your favourite Belgian beer and you will soon realise why it is a staple in the motherland!
We serve them in traditional black pots with lids - once the pot hits the table, open it immediately to enjoy the wonderful aromas, the lid is then used to put empty mussel shells in.
